Merry Belated Christmas, New Year, Love Me Tender Day, etc.

So let's make this as brief as possible...

I MISSED YOU GUYS & GALS!! Excuse? No. not really. I just finally put my macbook in the shop 2 weeks ago, haven't heard any updates. (I should probably call huh?) Honestly, I miss making videos, I've picked things up & thought "this would be amazing in a haul & I'd love to share but..." in the works nonetheless. Why that stopped me from actually posting? I really have no answer.

Not too too much has changed. I passed my CNA exam, all thanks be to Jesus! Next stop Nursing School God's willing it will all go smoothly, which I claim that it will. Amen.

I've been working. No real vacays due to a probationary period with my job but I'm going to MD this weekend for my Aunt's wedding. (Can I tell you how much I LOVE the DMV! I would LOVE to call it home.) Then Philly, New Orleans, ATL... Maybe a cruise at the end of the year, Nursing School pending? I like the sound of that.

Lovely Trip to NY to visit my Aunt & Uncle. We saw an amaze & ing dance show called Evidence by Ronald K. Brown at Joyce theater a few months back followed by dinner at Casa Havana known for their scrumdilumtious sandwiches. I'm a sucker for a good Cuban steak, fact. Of course a nice walk to compliment the food that I just savaged.

Speaking of Essence, The 2013 Essence Music Festival I will certainly be in attendance for! A lovely ladies weekend! Sooo excited!

I finally saw Eric Roberson aka E RO in concert at SOB's with my Broham Josh. Good time! If you ever get the chance, CHECK HIM OUT! He is extremely entertaining, funny, and might I add talented? His albums & Youtube videos are dope but, nothing like the real thing Babes.

Q Parker at SOB's with my boy Mr. LavishLyfe aka Sir Russ. I was thoroughly impressed! Shout out to Jason aka Phenix for giving me the head's up on how good his album was. If you do not know, it's a keeper! You know how many artists say "I just want to bring back the old R&B with meaning" or something along those lines? My man Q did that & then some & sounds better live than on the album.. How does that work?

I tried Curl Formers aka Magic Leverag for the first time.. Eh.. I like them but my hair is longer than I expected so I ordered a few more sets. That's another post on it's own..

1. Cook Outs, Graduations, Concerts, Birthday Parties, etc.
2. Helping to take care of my G Folks... Hospital, to rehab to home.
3. Food Poisoning
4. Preparing for my State CNA Exam
5. Computer issues
6. I MIGHT have had a Birthday

Catch my drift? Life!!

No traveling until like November so you KNOW I'm going through withdrawal. Anywho, I have a few things up my sleeve that would be impossible to keep to myself and downright selfish. So stay tuned Lovelies, your girl is back.

As you will be able to tell from the video, I fought with my hair and the idea of whether or not I liked the results. As of today 2 days later, I am pleased.

All in all, this served as a reminder, that along with being a naturalista comes individuality and being able to work around the kinks and bumps in the road (or scalp)... waka waka waka! You make it work!

You want HOW much for a fake flower arrangement?! Child please......

So I was browsing in one of my favorite stores with cute & original items to decorate your home and saw these cute floral arrangements that I really wanted to help spruce up my night stand. So I came across these...

I liked them... they were great focal points for what I was going for but I was really sold with this baby

Absolutely in love with the fact that they're white to give it that pure & comfortable feel. And then there was the price... $25(ish) NEXT!!!

This is where my pep speech came in, something along the lines of: "There is no way I'm spending that much on a fake flower arrangement. Granted it would last for a very long time but I can make my own for half of the price... **ECHO** "I can make my own for half of the price". So that's just what I did.

First stop Goodwill:

I kid you not, I paid $1 for this vase. Peeled the sticker and washed it out a few times.

Next and final stop Walmart:

The biggest part? Flowers of course! I didn't quite want roses but something slightly less formal & to match my bed spread as well as my personality a little more. Don't ask me what kind these are either, I want to say Carnations but I really don't think so lol Price: $3 and I grabbed 2 bunches.

I needed something to serve as a filler with the stems being so long as well as the vase kind of tall. I stumbled across these for $3.

Steps:

1. The fillers were immediately placed into the vase.

2. The stems were slightly longer than I cared for them to be so I used wire cutters and snipped them to a well liked length and stuck into the vase. I had to shift them around some so the stems were not seen.

3. I used white ribbon that I had lying around, enough to make into a bow. Then I used a hot glue gun to keep the ribbon in place on the vase. Pow pow!

I absofreakinlutely adore it! It's sitting on my night stand keeping my great great Aunt's mirror company along with my Yankee Candle in "Pink Blush"

Prices:

Vase from Goodwill: $1

Bunch of unknown flowers from Walmart: $3 x 2 = $6

Clear filler from Walmart: $3

The other items I already had so expenses aren't calculated giving me a grand total of $10 -vs- $25? I'll take it!

We have been having some gawgeous (yet humid) weather but some amazing sunsets to make up for it. Which is where I got my inspiration for "Spring grass & Corpal (Coral & Purple) Skies", kind of like....

Mango Tango by Fusion of Color: Simply and sweetly put, I love this. I know that I had a lot of lighting in the video so it kind of blocked some of it's true essence but trust me when I say, I want more!!! I received this as apart of my Swag Bag from The Experience NYC as mentioned.


I wore this color for a few hours and it did not fade, it had great pay off and was not grainy at all. I can also see why it was The Color of the Year in 2012. Gorg!

Don't Zzzzz... on Wet N' Wild!

I have had these Wet N' Wild Matte Mega Lipsticks and Megalast nail polishes for quite some time now and I have been meaning to review them. Short story shorter... I'm sorry because these are amazing!! They retail for $1.99 at drugstores and $1.97 at my local Walmart. 


I purchased 2 lipsticks at a drugstore on sale for $.99 when they first released & loved them so much that the very next day I was back with 3 nail polishes and 5 more lipsticks as well. A great thing about the drugstores is that the products are more likely to go on sale and there are coupons currently circulating making them f-r-e-e..

I absofreakinlutely love the nail polishes! Not only do they last long as mentioned in the name but the brush is awesome. It is shaped to basically adhere to your nail so you are less likely to make errors with it's flat and rounded shape.
